“I am 16 and the main difficulty is, I know very well what I desire to write, but when I do write it down I consider it seems lame”
Now she is 16 years of age, but I am pretty sure that this issue transcends all ages.
The truth is, nearly every thing *I* pay I also think sounds dull too… at least at first. We all need to understand that typically you’ll never write a ‘great music’ the first time around. That way doesn’t be happened by it.
I always jokingly tell people who are aspiring songwriters that “you aren’t in the commercial of writing tunes, but more like… you’re in the business of editing them.”
By that I am talking about, you are not necessarily song writing, but alternatively song crafting. That is why they call it a craft, and that is the manner in which you must be thinking. Until you find it fit to be heard by other fans It’s about continually editing and re-arranging your song. Do not just let it end there, If you have a track down. Trust in me, it ain’t concluded.
There may be exceptions to the principle, but generally – you will still have work to complete.
Pay attention to the verse… May it do with an alteration of track? Does it tie in well with the chorus or Pre-Chorus? Does the music make sense lyrically? Step out of the music for a moment… If you were an outsider listening in could the song be dug by you? Does the music bore YOU? What might you do to improve that?
Now, that you don’t need certainly to go crazy here. Do not nit-pick every little bump and cranny – that can only drive you mad. Take in the very first instance of that which you feel can do with re-working, then GET IT DONE. Change it up… and ensure it is better.
Critiquing your own personal song is probably one of the most difficult things to do in songwriting – however it CAN be carried out relatively easily. It involves you taking a look at it only a little objectively and really being forced to stand besides your music.
