You have an older dishwasher and it’s serving you well. Let us make which was serving you well. See, the problem is solving it. If your dishwasher has ended filling or draining every one of an or has its moments when it’ll work and when it’ll not – check the belt.
The belt connects the engine to the pump using pulleys. The pump fills the dishwasher once the motor rotates in one single direction. When the motor rotates in the opposite direction, the dishwasher is drained by the pump.
If your dishwasher isn’t filling or draining at all, the gear could be broken. If your dishwasher sometimes works, the belt is probably extended and is slipping. Have a closer look at your dishwasher’s belt.
The gear is about 25 inches long and made from clear or black plastic. The gear is found behind the lower access section, that will be often known as a kickplate. Getting to the strip is straightforward and because you don’t have take the dishwasher out from the wall, this repair won’t take long. The sole tool you’ll need is a screwdriver.

It is important to slice the power source to the dishwasher before attempting any repairs. It is possible to remove the power cable, remove the fuse from the fuse box, or turn the breaker in the circuit breaker panel. After the power is cut, you might continue.
Start the dishwasher door to find the screws for the access panel. Once the screws are removed, close the doorway and eliminate the panel. The old strip is likely to be extended somewhat rendering it more straightforward to remove. It will slip down off the pulleys. Replacing the gear isn’t therefore simple. It will have a much tighter fit.
The simplest way to get a new belt on the pulleys would be to place one end of the belt around the pump housing, immediately above the pump pulley. Put one other end of the belt across the engine pulley. Carefully roll the gear down the pump housing until it sits properly set up.
Eventually it is possible to reconcile the power source and reattach the access panel. Your old dishwasher is straight back up and all set again.
