In this age of enlightenment, how come we still call them women’s dress shoes?
Certain, all of the time we wear our women’s dress shoes with a dress, but more frequently than not we also wear them with our tailored shorts, office attire and jeans. But we don’t call them “tailored pants shoes” do we?
And how come we are still wearing those four-inch stiletto heels, when we know how difficult it’s to remain out from the breaks in the sidewalk, even in our flats?
Don’t you imagine we might have learned a lesson right now? The. . . damn. . . Issues. . . hurt. And additionally they harm our backbone, achilles tendon, cause bunions and other equally gross malformations of our feet.
But when Sex and the City taught us any such thing about the means of the earth in the 21st century, it was that Carrie looked smashing in her Manolo’s as she ran, yes, ran, down Park Avenue to generally meet whichever stunning chunk she was schtupping during the time. The moral of the story being “Yes girls, your designer dress shoes will always get you your man!”
So here are my not-so-serious tips on how exactly to have a wardrobe filled with amazing women’s dress shoes:
Make the shoe merchant your “new best friend.” He or she is going to be part of a, very particular connection – you and your dress shoes.
Forget comfort when you have got class! Look at those things! Don’t you just have to have them? Whatever the proven fact that they feel like you have got metal clamps on your feet? Anyhow, you can always sit down anywhere after an hour approximately, well, can not you?
Comfort does not be equaled by remember cost when buying designer dress shoes. If they cost 8 weeks ‘ pay, they’re worth just of the pain.
When trying on your dress shoes, check how you look out of each and every direction – sitting, standing, lying face down or up — yes, you’ll need to find out how you look when you are flat on your back after falling off your 4 inch spikes.
Far be it from me to postulate on studying nothing from our forefathers (oops, after all mothers!), but as long as Mr Blahnik, and Jimmy Choo, and numerous other great masters of shoe design hold making artist women’s dress sneakers (there’s that phrase again) that are simply just to-die-for, properly, bunions be damned, I’ll die for them!
