Tyrone also began teaching me the Iron Palm methods that Lee called the Indirect Method and the Over-all strategy and more complex teaching and other Internal methods maybe not trained in the book but most of which clearly came from Lee because it was a natural extension of what Lee provided in his book. I also discovered that elements of the book are deliberately misleading or only taught in part to avoid folks from fraudulently taking advantage of Lees work. We were also taught basic methods to make our very own education equipment from easily available objects such as for instance Phone books and duct tape. I trained external methods at first but my preferred methods will be the internal ones in part since the more complex Dim Mak, Dian-hsuhe and Chi Manipulation including healing methods can only just be gained and acquired with the internal methods and Tyrone demonstrated these abilities from the first time I started studying with him. I was particularly impressed along with his ability to affect individuals from a recovery and distance without pressing methods.
Q. What’re the similarities with other metal hand styles?
A. Training that is involved by the main types of Iron Palm the general martial arts public seems to be familiar with with resources and liniments. From the practitioners I have spoken with and articles I’ve see the external techniques we were shown are nearly the same as what I understand most other practitioners are doing with slight differences. For the internal practices without materials I’ve maybe not met many people in United States who are familiar with this approach at all let alone learning it.
Q. Just how long have you been training in it and what attracted you to it?
A. I met Tyrone in a park in 1981. At that time I was training in some other fighting styles and although I already had some minimal training in Tibetan energy practices I was really intrigued. Concerning this time my dad proposed that I look for a Kung Fu teacher to keep my education and I would have gone back to Tyrone but I did not know how to find him and small groups were only taught by him, at his home and privately.
