Most hotels on the island are also located on the south or west coasts of the island, with the south coast being the most active, the hotels on the south coast in general tend to be mostly 2 to 4 star hotels with many no frills housing available while the west coast is where most of the luxury hotels are located, including the exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel, although there are exceptions to the principle in both cases.
The superior water of Barbados beaches provide the perfect environment for days spent at the beach involved in water or beach activities including jet-skiing, exploring, kiteboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, parasailing, sailing, water skiing, snorkeling, wakeboarding and diving. There’s also deep sea fishing, boat cruises boat events available. For the real water lover there are rentals available for nearly all professions including scuba equipment, surfboards, kayaks and kite gear. Classes are available for nearly all water activities as well.
If you were traveling the coast of the island you’d find the calm waters of the west coast meeting the little coast split conditions of the south getting significantly harder even as we come around the east with the Atlantic waves coming in and finally the equally tough conditions of the north battering the cliffs.
Travel on the island can be excellent with the Transport Board which will be government run and Route Taxis providing excellent protection to pretty much every conceivable destination. Furthermore there are numerous taxis and Rental Car companies available for those who need to travel at their very own comfort.
The lifestyle on Barbados is quite varied and ranges from the social bourbon shops to contemporary clubs, beach bars, bars and also a number of the best restaurants can be found everywhere in the Caribbean.
